As a Georgia Tech FLAMEL scholar, the opportunity to accelerate the design and manufacture of high performance materials is at your fingertips. Imagine designing the core technology for fuel-efficient vehicles or advancing emerging tools such as 3D printing—the applications for future materials are limitless. The two-year program will offer you a rare opportunity to shape future technology applications in the data sciences through Georgia Tech's unique interdisciplinary approach to research discovery. You'll be able to explore commercializing your innovations and work with the top technology companies across the country.
Who Should Apply to FLAMEL?
Students in the FLAMEL program must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents enrolled in a doctoral degree program at Georgia Tech by the time they begin participation in the program. In addition to current Georgia Tech students, those applying to a doctoral program at Georgia Tech are especially encouraged to apply to FLAMEL by indicating their interest in their PhD application materials (e.g., the statement of purpose). FLAMEL was designed to attract students from disparate educational backgrounds such as computer science, computational science, mathematics, engineering, and the physical sciences. No background in materials is required to apply, nor is computing expertise beyond introductory computer programming classes. Women and minority students are especially encouraged to apply.
